New Federal Early Learning and Child Care Funding
SECA welcomes today's announcement of up to $5.4 billion in additional federal funding for early learning and child care.
Through ongoing engagement with government officials and policymakers, including a recent meeting with Saskatchewan's Minister of Education, SECA has continued to advocate for sustainable and equitable funding that supports the long-term viability of child care programs across Saskatchewan.
We are encouraged by the federal investment of up to $5.4 billion over two years and hopeful it will contribute to strengthening the sector for children, families, educators, and providers.

SECA sees several of our long‑standing advocacy priorities reflected in these announcements, including steps toward greater stability, consistency, and equity across licensed homes and centres.
While we recognize that some programs will experience impacts and adjustment, these changes represent continued system‑building following significant growth under the Canada‑Wide Early Learning and Child Care agreement.
